SYKLI - Hailuoto’s 12 Seasons Exhibition
What: KAARLO Cultural House’s opening exhibition invites you to experience the island of Hailuoto, where nature, light and the cycle of the seasons shape the landscape and life.

Environmental Art Museum - Anni Rapinoja
What: A new kind of museum concept, with the Bothnian Bay surrounding Hailuoto serving as its walls. The first permanent environmental artwork will take shape during 2026-2027. The collection grows each year with 1-2 new environmental artworks placed in different parts of Hailuoto.

Bättre Folk Festival
What: Bättre Folk Festival is an iconic annual music festival dedicated to new and alternative music. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Marjaniemi in Hailuoto, the festival is known for its relaxed atmosphere, carefully curated programme and distinctive character.

Bothnian Regatta
What: Bothnia Regatta continues the legacy of the legendary Course Kemi, inviting all sailing enthusiasts to enjoy the magical atmosphere of the northern sea under the midnight sun. Bothnia Regatta arrives in Hailuoto in July. The programme in each harbour will be confirmed during spring 2026.

Hailuoto Theatre Festival
What: Hailuoto’s beloved theatre festival returns after a year’s break, bringing performing arts experiences back to the heart of summer on the island. The festival weekend in late July gathers several performances, atmospheric encounters, stories and monologues in settings that are uniquely Hailuoto.

What: An annual chamber and folk music festival organised by Oulunsalo Ensemble.

Tikkuröijy Festival
What: Welcome to the International Tikkuröijy Days in Hailuoto - the event is also part of the official Oulu2026 programme. The programme and venues will be confirmed later.

Hailuoto Fly-in
What: Hailuoto Fly-In and a family-friendly aviation day on Saturday, 15 August 2026, at Hailuoto Airfield in Pöllä from 11 am to 4 pm. Kujalan Burger and Kujalan Tila will also be there with their delicious offerings.

Lighthouse Weekend
What: International Lighthouse Weekend in Marjaniemi, Hailuoto. Guided tours to the lighthouse, the pilot station, the fishermen’s village and the harbour.

Hailuoto Organum Festival
What: “Scores for Visitors” is a project within the Oulu2026 Nature and Environmental Art programme. The project explores, presents and experiments with the possibilities of environmental art through the Hailuoto Organum, investigating what can be done within and through this unique artwork.

The Last Ferry Feast
What: A one-of-a-kind dinner on the ferry. Together we’ll celebrate one of the most significant moments in Hailuoto’s history - the final ferry crossing. The evening’s serving is cocktail-style, with performances and other programme elements to set the pace of the night. The event is part of the Oulu2026 programme, and participation requires a ticket. Ticket sales details will be announced later.
