Parking in Hailuoto

In Hailuoto, parking is only permitted in designated parking areas. Parking along the roadside is prohibited for safety reasons and to ensure smooth traffic flow.

In Marjaniemi, parking space is limited, and most parking areas have a time limit of either 30 minutes or 4 hours. Parking outside designated areas is strictly prohibited. The police are carrying out enhanced traffic and parking enforcement in the Hailuoto area.

The Municipality of Hailuoto recommends that visitors to Marjaniemi use the parking area in Sumppu. The municipal parking area in Sumppu is free of charge and is located after the paved road, behind the paid Aimo Park parking areas. Signs will be installed in the area at the beginning of the week.

From the Sumppu parking area, you can easily walk along the duckboards to the tip of Marjaniemi.

In the Marjaniemi area, permitted parking areas include:

• The designated parking areas in the Sumppu area

• The official parking area by the harbour

• The parking area near the lighthouse

Please always follow the signs and parking instructions in the area.

Although Hailuoto’s new fixed road connection has been opened to traffic, finishing works are still ongoing in the area. Some areas will remain construction sites until autumn, and parking there is not permitted.
